Twin Cities Graduate Education Catalog
First professional degree—A degree that signifies both completion of academic requirements for beginning practice in a given profession and a level of professional skill beyond that normally required for a bachelor's degree. Such degrees usually require at least 2 academic years of work prior to entrance, and an additional 4 years of work to complete the professional curriculum. These include the M.D., J.D., Pharm.D., D.V.M., D.D.S, L.L.M.

Non-credit, personal enrichment, and professional development courses
The College of Continuing Education offers a number of programs and courses for personal enrichment.
The Center for Early Education and Development offers professional development courses online for continuing education credit.
University of Minnesota Extension offers non-credit programs from the Centers for: Agriculture, Food and Environment; Community Vitality; Family Development; Natural Resources and Environment; and Youth Development.
