To qualify for admission to the College of Veterinary Medicine, students must complete three years of coursework in the biological and physical sciences and general education at UMM but many applicants have completed the bachelor's degree. Required courses include composition, biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, speech, and economics and are listed in the College of Veterinary Medicine Bulletin. Consultation with a UMM adviser is essential for proper course planning.
Application to the professional curriculum must be made nearly one year in advance or not later than November 15 in the year before the fall quarter in which the student wishes to be admitted. To apply, students should request the College of Veterinary Medicine application packet, which is available only from the Office of the Registrar-St. Paul, University of Minnesota, 130 Coffey Hall, 1420 Eckles Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108. Admission criteria and procedures may be found in the College of Veterinary Medicine Bulletin available in Academic Advising.
